Position Highlights:      

The General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance of all buildings within the organization and for the continuous running of equipment and machinery

• This position is also involved in control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance

• Respond to maintenance needs of all buildings within the organization (including the retail stores)

• Ensure that equipment and machinery runs smoothly and reliably

• Supervision of the Maintenance Engineer Assistant

• Limited carpentry, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and ventilation maintenance to include preventative maintenance

• Coordinate with contractors and other third party service providers for major repairs and maintain storage and inventory for above operations

• Identify and capture opportunities for improvement in equipment maintainability and reliability

• Designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods

• Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs

• Keep current with latest equipment, technologies and maintenance methods

• Assist with the production process when needed



Must have a technical degree

• Experience and working knowledge of general building maintenance

• Must have experience working with technical and electrical process

• Understanding electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and electronic systems

• Troubleshooting problems on various types of equipment

• Understanding how to read blueprints and system schematics

• Knowing equipment safety systems and processes

• Good communication skills

• Must speak and read English and Papiamento

• Must be in good physical shape (must be able to lift up to 25KG)

• Accurate and detail oriented

• Must be flexible and a team player

• Professional attitude with strong work ethic and organized

• Service and safety oriented
