Aloe Vera | Gaining Popularity in the 50's
Before the '50s, the Aloe Vera plant was prevalent because of the yellow sap (latex), which contains laxative properties. But soon after, the clear gel found inside the plant was proven to have countless benefits as a healing agent in cosmetics, a powerful moisturizer, a base for nutritional drinks, and more! An important fact is that Aruba was one of the first countries to start producing cosmetic products based on the Aloe Vera gel in the late 1960s.
